'It's a crapshoot': The RTA is under pressure to improve its paratransit operations after an audit determined the agency had violated federal regulations that require it to provide on-time rides for disabled residents. For many New Orleanians, especially those in wheelchairs, the service is their only way to get to work and doctor's appointments. Blake Paterson talked to some of those riders.
Trader Joe's delay: The Trader Joe's grocery store on Tulane Avenue could face construction delays after an Orleans Parish judge ruled that waivers for city zoning restrictions were improperly granted to the project's developers. Three Mid-City residents brought the lawsuit against the city and developers in December 2023. Tony McAuley has the details.
Scrim tats: A Mid-City tattoo shop offered a selection of small Scrim-inspired designs Sunday as part of a benefit for Zeus’ Rescues. Doug MacCash talked with some of the tattoo recipients and got photographic evidence of their permanent tributes to the legendary runaway dog.
