The new Smarter Rules for Safer Foods (SRSF) requirements, including the Plant Health Regulation and Official Controls Regulation, became applicable on 14th December 2019. For seed and other propagating material produced before this date, there is a one year transitional period before it needs to comply with the new plant passport requirements for RNQPs (Regulated Non-Quarantine Pests) as part of the Plant Health Regulation. The Pairc Trust Community Housing Project received funding from various sources to renovate a disused building into two warm and energy efficient rental properties in Gravir, Isle of Lewis. After 31 December 2020, CPVO (Community Plant Variety Office) will require all applicants and holders of Community Plant Variety Rights have a contact address (a designated procedural representative) in the EU. The UK National List will remain part of the EU Common Catalogue during the implementation period. It will be removed after 31st December 2020, unless the UK has an arrangement in place with the EU to maintain access to the common catalogue. We will continue to communicate with you throughout the year about any actions you need to take after the implementation period.
