Good afternoon,

Wednesday lunchtime is when we round up the best of our PNE headlines for you.

It’s all eyes on the summer as after Ryan Lowe’s side closed out the season with a fine 4-1 win against Middlesbrough, the boss wielded the axe, releasing 13 players from his squad.

He also put three more on the transfer list with Tom Barkhuizen the headline name to leave at the end of his contract.

North End are however aiming for Bambo Diaby to fill one of the squad vacancies created by their summer clear-out. Diaby was the only senior out-of-contract player offered a new deal and remains in talks.

Elsewhere, if Daniel Iversen needs any reminder as to his contribution to Preston North End’s cause this season, he just needs to look at the trophies he brought home from Deepdale at the weekend.

The goalkeeper, on loan from Leicester City, swept the board at the PNE player of the year ceremony held on the pitch after the Boro win.

Now, how great would it be to see him back next season?
