Ryanair is planning to reduce its Portuguese network in response to what it claims are “excessive increases” in fees levied by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, which manages 10 airports on Portugal’s mainland, Madeira and the Azores.

Zurich Welcomes Beond

Since November 17, the new carrier Beond flies twice a week from Zurich to Malé (Maldives).

The special thing about this premium airline is that it only offers Business Class seats. With 44 seats in an A319, Beond takes off on Tuesday and Friday to the Indian Ocean with a stopover in Dubai. There are plans to expand the fleet with larger aircrafts in order to fly directly from Zurich to Malé.

BHX Customer Numbers Exceed Pre-Pandemic Levels

In October this year 1,106,000 customers travelled through the Midlands transport hub compared to 1,101,000 in October 2019.

Tom Screen, aviation director for BHX, said: “Last month our customer numbers were 100.4% of what they were October 2019 - officially the first month we’ve surpassed pre-pandemic numbers, having been hovering in the high nineties for quite a while.
