S.C. companies honored for manufacturing excellence

Jim Newsome, president and CEO of the S.C. Ports Authority, was presented the BlueCross BlueShield Manufacturing Lifetime Service Award during the Oct. 30 Manufacturing Excellence Awards ceremony.

The governor praised the ports, agriculture, the universities and all the state’s assets that continue to make South Carolina’s manufacturing so successful in closing remarks at the S.C Manufacturing Conference and Expo.

S.C. receives $1.14M to increase health care safety

The funding is part of a $180 million Centers for Disease Control and Prevention initiative aimed at helping prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases in health care facilities nationwide.
