Hispanic Heritage Month: Understanding the American Experience
October 14, 2017 (9:30 am - 1:30 pm)
No matter what subject you teach--social studies, English, Spanish, or visual arts--learn and practice techniques to use art and portraiture by Latino artists or of Latino figures to add nuance and depth to your students' understanding or our collective American history. Offered with the National Portrait Gallery.

Renwick After Hours and in YOUR Classroom Join us this fall for special access to the Renwick after the public has gone home OR host a museum educator in your classroom.

After a light dinner under Parallax Gap, join museum educators in the gallery to take part in activities that bring the "made-ness" and experimental spirit of contemporary craft into your classroom content: October 25, 2017 - Craft, History & Culture November 16, 2017 - Creative Expression

Host Renwick educators in your classroom!
When? January through June 2018
What? Help pilot test and shape new teaching resources.
Why? A stipend and bus funds for a 2018/19 field trip may be available to partnering teachers.

Schedule a Student Tour! Student tours are available as early as 9:30 on weekdays. K-12 students get special access to our quiet galleries before public hours. Bring your K-12 classes for one of 15 different inquiry-based, docent-led tour under the following headers: Looking, Thinking, Analyzing Narrative: Telling America's Stories Identity: A Multiplicity of Voices
