Dear
The UK Government will be hosting ‘Safe To Be Me: A Global Equality Conference’ promoting the rights of the LGBT+ community, in London on 29 June to 1 July 2022. The Conference will coincide with the 50th anniversary of the first official London Pride marches. It will be the largest event of its kind, bringing together governments, civil society organisations, businesses and parliamentarians to agree how we can work together to protect and promote LGBT+ rights around the world.
The Embassy and Consulate are seeking to promote LGBT+ rights in Vietnam, and organise a number of events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City around the Conference, including a screening of Five Films for Freedom from 16–27 March 2022 and a Pride Reception at the Residences in both cities. We are also planning to sponsor members of Civil Society and the LGBT Community from Vietnam to attend the Safe to Be Me Conference and London Pride. We are confident that these events will raise awareness in Vietnam, and get wide public engagement.
We are writing to the British Business community to ask if you would you be willing to join us and provide sponsorship for the planned events and participation at the Conference? We are aiming for 3 or 4 sponsors, contributing £5000 each. But any assistance is welcome. We would credit and co- brand with your organisation. We would also be delighted for you and/or your representatives to attend the events in Hanoi and for your marketing and communications teams to work with Conference and London Pride attendees to amplify the positive message.
Thank you inadvance for consideration.
