Let's be honest, this song was really written about NFL draft week. Can you feel the excitement in the air? The New Orleans Saints are armed with a pair of first-round picks for the first time since the 2017 draft, and, well, that one turned out just fine for them. What direction do you think the Saints will take in the first round, which begins Friday? Will they finally take a receiver in the first round, which they have only done three times in Mickey Loomis' 20 drafts as the team's GM. Will they find their quarterback's blindside protector for the next decade with one of the class' top offensive tackles? Or was this extra first-rounder acquired with a quarterback in mind? We won't know anything concrete until Thursday, of course, but that won't stop us from trying to read the tea leaves in the meantime. We've been going through some best-case scenarios at each of the positions the Saints might wind up targeting as part of our pre-draft coverage in an attempt to unravel how the draft might unfold in front of New Orleans. Maybe the run on quarterbacks never materializes, and the Saints can snag their quarterback of the future without making another costly trade. Maybe instead they get their choice of left tackles at No. 16. Either way, the Saints should probably not wait too long for a receiver. We've got so much more in the works for you this week. Stay tuned and keep it locked right here. Cheers, Luke Johnson |
