Reinforcements on the way at some key positions
Good news, Saints fans. The cavalry has finally started to arrive. Several of the Saints' walking wounded returned to practice on Thursday, including a handful of key starters. We won't know their playing status until later this weekend but it's still good news that they're finally healthy enough to don the pads and get back to work. Amie Just has the story. The news on the injury front wasn't all good. Luke Johnson reports that two key players on the Saints offense missed practice on Thursday because of injuries, throwing into question their availability for the Saints' Monday night game in Seattle. Find out who they are here. Luke also chronicles how quarterback Jameis Winston spent his bye week trying to improve on a couple of key areas to his game, including his touch and accuracy on short and intermediate passes. And finally, I penned a column in honor of running back Alvin Kamara, who has quietly become the Saints' most indispensable player. Just five games into his fifth season, Kamara is inching up the Saints' all-time leaderboards in scoring, rushing and receiving. We'll have lots of more coverage in the days ahead as the Saints ramp up preparations for their big national TV game against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. As usual, it's been wet and cold all week in the Emerald City so this one could be a low-scoring slugfest. Thanks again for your loyal support. We truly appreciate it. And check back with us again in the days head for more in-depth coverage from our Saints coverage team. Until next time... Cheers, Jeff Duncan |
