Salesforce vs. Microsoft may be the tech equivalent of Yankees-Red Sox. They really don’t seem to like each other. This week, both companies launched new AI sales agents (full details here). Bill Gates’ baby explicitly promised to help customers “migrate off legacy CRM system vendors.”

  1. A) Ouch. B) Microsoft accusing someone else of being a “legacy system”?

This comes in response to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff’s many critical comments about Microsoft’s AI. “I’ve spoken to these customers,” he said in January. “They barely use it, and that’s only if they don’t have a ChatGPT license or something like that in front of them.”

  1. A) Ouch. B) Who has the popcorn?

What they're saying

  • “In B2B, the account-based strategies that delivered results just a few years ago are now table stakes. Traditional ABM is becoming a commodity, not because it doesn’t work, but because everyone is doing it. When everyone follows the same playbook, no one stands out.” – Steve Armenti in Why modern ABX is the future of enterprise GTM.
  • Content doesn’t have to be original, insightful or lead anywhere. It just has to feed the algorithm so you can get the biggest following and look like an original, insightful thought leader.” – Zac Stucki in The three pillars of real thought leadership
