Construction Underway, Scheduled Operation: 2025

The Intermountain Power Project's transformational “IPP Renewed” project is under construction and on track for mid-2025 start-up. The project includes new natural gas-fueled electricity generating units that will also utilize "green" hydrogen for long-term, dispatchable storage of renewable energy. Bill Wyatt, executive director with Salt Lake City Department of Airports, will be sworn in as the newest board member of the Utah Inland Port Authority during a board meeting on Oct. 4, 2023.   • 1789 - US Congress proposes the Bill of Rights
  • 1894 - Grover Cleveland pardons bigamists, adulterers, polygamists and unlawful cohabitants, specifically meant for Latter-day Saints
  • 1903 - Olive Beech is born. An American aerospace businesswoman, she was the co-founder, president, and chairwoman of the Beech Aircraft Corporation.
