Apple has been testing a new Apple Pencil that works with visionOS support, allowing it to be used with the company's Vision Pro headset, according to a MacRumors report. Such a feature would allow the Apple Pencil to be used with Vision Pro drawing apps, like Freeform and Pixelmator. "No specific details are known about this project, but one possibility is that users would be able to draw with the Apple Pencil on a desk or another flat surface, and the drawing would appear in the open visionOS app," the report said, adding that it would "essentially turn a person's surroundings into a giant canvas, complete with pressure and tilt sensitivity"... |

Google is bringing its AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) to more users. When it launched last year, the feature, which uses generative AI to summarize search results at the top of the page, was only available to those who opted in. A Google spokesperson told Search Engine Land that SGE will be activated for a "subset of queries, on a small percentage of search traffic in the U.S." The web giant is apparently interested in getting feedback from people who have not opted in to SGE in a bid to learn more about how the general population takes to it ... |

Not only is it an incredibly gorgeous-looking TV, but it may also be the thinnest 8K TV I've seen. Golden Globes strikes broadcast deal with CBS

CBS has inked a new five-year deal to continue broadcasting the Golden Globes awards show and live stream it on Paramount+, Deadline reported. The new agreement begins with the January 2025 broadcast. The deal comes two months after CBS aired the Golden Globes for the first time in more than four decades. It was a ratings success, attracting 10 million viewers via CBS and Paramount Plus live and delayed viewing, up around 50% on NBC's coverage a year earlier, which saw an all-time low tune-in. A couple of separate reports suggest that Microsoft is looking at the possibility of launching a handheld Xbox. It has considered the idea before but apparently has renewed interest following the success of devices like the Asus ROG Ally, the Lenovo Legion Go, the Nintendo Switch (pictured), and the Steam Deck. Windows Central managing editor said on the Xbox Two Podcast: "I know that [Xbox] has got handheld prototypes right now." In a recent interview, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, said the Xbox hardware team is considering "different hardware form factors and things that [they] could go do," a possible hint that a handheld Xbox could be on the way ... |
