Apple reportedly testing new Pencil for Vision Pro headset | The Apple Pencil currently works with iPads only, but that could be about to change | Apple has been testing a new Apple Pencil that works with visionOS support, allowing it to be used with the company's Vision Pro headset, according to a MacRumors report. Such a feature would allow the Apple Pencil to be used with Vision Pro drawing apps, like Freeform and Pixelmator. "No specific details are known about this project, but one possibility is that users would be able to draw with the Apple Pencil on a desk or another flat surface, and the drawing would appear in the open visionOS app," the report said, adding that it would "essentially turn a person's surroundings into a giant canvas, complete with pressure and tilt sensitivity"...

Google testing AI overviews from SGE in Google Search | SGE is AI-powered chatbot technology that tries to create a more useful and natural Google Search experience
| Google is bringing its AI-powered Search Generative Experience (SGE) to more users. When it launched last year, the feature, which uses generative AI to summarize search results at the top of the page, was only available to those who opted in. A Google spokesperson told Search Engine Land that SGE will be activated for a "subset of queries, on a small percentage of search traffic in the U.S." The web giant is apparently interested in getting feedback from people who have not opted in to SGE in a bid to learn more about how the general population takes to it ... | |

Samsung QN900D 8K TV first look: fully loaded flagship
| Let's take a closer look at what's new — inside and out — on Samsung's 8K flagship this year, the QN900D | The 2024 Samsung QN900D is the Korean tech giant's new flagship 8K TV, and I recently had a chance to spend some up-close time with it. Samsung's 8K lineup gets all the goodies, and the QN900D is at the top of the lineup. It's safe to say that the QN900D is the best Neo QLED TV that Samsung makes. Not only is it an incredibly gorgeous-looking TV, but it may also be the thinnest 8K TV I've seen. Thin is still in, even though it seems like we're a bit more forgiving of thicker TVs if the picture performance is there ... | |

Golden Globes strikes broadcast deal with CBS

The new agreement begins with the January 2025 broadcast. The deal comes two months after CBS aired the Golden Globes for the first time in more than four decades. It was a ratings success, attracting 10 million viewers via CBS and Paramount Plus live and delayed viewing, up around 50% on NBC's coverage a year earlier, which saw an all-time low tune-in. The telecast was also the third-largest live-streamed CBS special event on Paramount Plus in average-minute audience and reach ...

It has considered the idea before but apparently has renewed interest following the success of devices like the Asus ROG Ally, the Lenovo Legion Go, the Nintendo Switch (pictured), and the Steam Deck. Windows Central managing editor said on the Xbox Two Podcast: "I know that [Xbox] has got handheld prototypes right now."
