BiographyARTIST'S STATEMENT Imagine stepping into a magical place you have never been before, or perhaps you feel the stirring of a special memory. You feel as if you are in the scene, enveloped by the heat of that day, or the cool of that dark passageway. Smell the salt-sea air in the harbor; hear the distant clink of wine glasses and laughter at the outdoor café; wonder at the first light of day or absorb the warm glow of last light. The depth draws you into the frame; you venture in and explore the surroundings. You feel an emotional response or connection to the scene...exclaim "WOW!", or sigh with calm, even chuckle over a moment reminisced. These gratify me. This is why I paint. Sometimes I hide a little surprise that you may discover while lingering, or revisiting the image. I often complete a studio painting in one or two sessions. Working en plein air is most important - I must size up my vision quickly, plan and render it in one go, all the while coping with subjects moving or leaving, weather, insects and a myriad of distractions. That's a challenge! I have plenty of misses, and oft times I start over (more than once) - which means I learned what NOT to do. But sometimes I manage to get it pretty right, and have a piece I want to share with you. BIO Sandra Pearce was born in England; the family immigrated to America in the early 60's. While crossing the Atlantic on the RMS Queen Mary, she won first place in the children's drawing competition. The family began American life on the beautiful East Coast. Art has always been at the forefront, and painting emerged as the expression of choice. Sandra studied college courses, books, videos, and is still a driven workshopper - seeking master artists, she is always learning. An unexpected and exciting adventure took now-adult Sandra to a new town in a new state: Portland, Oregon - where she had no friends or family, no job and no home. She arranged for a place to live, quit her high-stress job, packed a van, and took the biggest leap of faith in her life. And she has always been glad she did. Sandra now finds peace and tranquility with her animals in their woodland home and garden. The simple life nurtures her creative spirit, and she is able to immerse herself in her painting, working plein air (on location outdoors) as often as possible. A trip to Tuscany, Florence, Venice and the Italian Riviera ignited a new spark of excitement in Sandra's work - she has countless future painting ideas from her travels around the USA, Europe and Canada, and looks forward to more travels around the amazing United States and beyond. Painting is essential for Sandra. Painting is the Good Life! Learn More About Sandra Pearce Who Does Kevin Macpherson Trust with His Website? FASO, of Course!
