Championship Game Recap
The
Sanford River Rats won the Florida League championship on Sunday night at Tropicana Field, defeating the Winter Park Diamond Dawgs 6-5 in a ten inning thriller.
With the win, Sanford finishes the season with an overall record of 33-12, setting a new mark for most combined wins in a year. It is the fourth title in team history and the third championship for Head Coach Kevin Davidson.
Omar Villaman (Florida Southern) was named MVP after going 3-5 with two runs and two RBI.
