Santee Cooper releases reform plan, 2020 budget details

The utility presented details a day after consultants hired by the S.C. Department of Administration to write a report recommending options for Santee Cooper’s future presented their conclusions to state legislators.

Essex Homes, based in Columbia, was founded in 1985. Stanley Martin Communities, founded in 1966, has developments in Washington, D.C., Raleigh, Charleston and Atlanta.

Construction could cause delays on Clemson Road

The work is part of a project to widen Clemson Road from 2 to 5 lanes between Old Clemson Road and Sparkleberry Crossing. Storm drainage will be installed beginning Friday, with asphalt replacement to take place next week.

Cottontown Art Crawl coming in March

The second annual neighborhood event will feature more than 50 local artists, including jewelry makers and painters. The art crawl will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., with bikes from Blue Bike SC free for public use.
