I'm sorry that I'm late putting out this newsletter. If I run late in the future, you can check the home page sidebar of AstroShaman.com for my current astrology forecast. The first thing I do in my twice-a-month media cycle is post the forecast there.
A Really Bizarre Excuse
I have a really bizarre excuse for why I'm running so late. Wednesday morning (yesterday) I had a YAG surgical procedure on my left eye. The surgeon used a laser beam to remove the accumulated vision-obscuring gunk from the lens implanted in my left eye. (I had artificial lenses implanted in both eyes many years ago during cataract surgeries.)
I've had YAGs done twice before, and I never experienced post-op challenges either time. But this time I had a lot of pain in my left eye for the rest of the day. (I'm only experiencing slight discomfort today.) There was a mysterious power outage during the brief laser procedure, and it may have caused the laser to glitch and cause some damage. (A divine hand at work, setting up what was to follow?)
At any rate, I started feeling really bad in the early afternoon. Even a healing Epsom salts and oregano bath didn't help. I was feeling weak and increasingly nauseous.
Here's a Challenging "Ayahuasca" Ceremony ... Surprise!
After a while, I realized that I was feeling just as if I was in a challenging ayahuasca ceremony. (I wasn't under the influence of anything besides the doctor's eye drops and the laser beam ... a far cry from my usual ceremonial sacrament!) I was so weak I could barely walk. But, following my inner guidance, I managed to lay out a sleeping mat next to my shamanic mesa (a type of altar used for energy work). The mesa's energy gave me some much-appreciated support.
This started an intense healing process that lasted nine and a half hours! I could feel some very old, heavily calcified hucha (toxic energy) being gradually worked loose from my sexual chakra. I didn't get any insights beyond that, but I could definitely tell that it was energy I'd be better off without.
Finally, the Purge!
After hours of build-up -- sweating, nausea, discomfort and frequent physical shaking -- I was finally able to vomit into a bucket I had ready. I was reminded why peyote shamans call this "getting well" instead of "getting sick" - I felt so much better afterward! In ayahuasca ceremonies, a physical purge can clear a great deal of toxic energy from the body. That's certainly what it did for me.
My higher self didn't explicitly ask my permission before initiating this surprise ceremony. But it was playing fair: I've told it repeatedly that I always welcome whatever serves the highest good.
Human Allies
I also got plenty of support. I toughed it out on my own for a while, then finally concluded that I really could use some human help. I reached out to two people who came to my aid. My soul friend Spiritsong, a gifted healer, magnificently facilitated ceremonial space for me for several hours. After she left, my shamanic ally Ami came over and blessed me with her skillful support.
My experience wasn't entirely challenging. I could feel the presence of my divine allies, and there was a great deal of bliss in the mix. Spiritsong is always accompanied by a host of angels, and I felt especially profound ecstasy in her blessed presence.
Feeling Much Better Now
I'm leaving out a great deal, but this should give you a sense of my experience. As I write this, in the late evening of the following day, I'm feeling much better. I even had all the energy I needed to do the two healing sessions I had scheduled today. So please don't worry about me. As challenging as yesterday was, I've experienced more difficult ceremonies during 12 years of plant spirit work.
So that's a big reason why this newsletter is so late. I'll try to be more timely in the future. But given the unpredictable nature of my increasingly shamanic existence, I can't make any promises! ;-)
