JOY TO THE WORLD HOLY FAMILY STATUE WITH POINSETTIAS
This festive statue of the Holy Family features the proclamation, “Joy to the World” above beautiful red poinsettias and cardinals on the front of Our Lady’s glittery white garments. On the hem circling around the base is a lightly etched music staff with treble clefs and music notes that add a bit of whimsy and recollect the Christmas hymn with that same name - Joy to the World! Made of hand-painted resin and glitter. Measures 10”H.
Even though the popular quote, “The lion will lie down with the lamb,” isn’t actually found in Holy Scripture, it does bring to mind the passage from Isaiah 11:6 which reads: “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb: and the leopard shall lie down with the kid: the calf and the lion and the sheep shall abide together, and a little child shall lead them.” (Douay-Rheims) This festive statue is a colorful representation of this metaphor for the advent of perfect peace and joy with the Incarnation of the Son of God. It is made of a resin-stone mix and was hand-painted with great detail. Measures 5¾”W x 6”H x 4”D.
