For all Archiware customers that need more storage space - we have good news for you! In P5 Version 6.0, Archiware doubles the disk and cloud storage limits in the Media Management and Storage License (MMSL). Each MMSL license now provides 8TB of storage, rather than 4TB. This means: with a 25 MMSL bundle, you are now provided with 200TB of storage, instead of 100TB. Existing installations have access to additional storage after upgrading.

P5 Desktop LTO Edition

Previously named P5 Desktop Edition, in P5 Version 6.0 we have introduced the P5 Desktop LTO Edition as a permanent license. This entry-level bundle allows backup and archive from a single computer, to a single LTO tape drive.

Small workgroups can now leverage automatic Backups and long-term Archive on LTO, store production data and protect it for the long-term. The LTFS import and export functionality is included.

Archiving Files Saves Energy and High Performance Storage Costs

With the rapid growth of data, having an Archive in place has numerous benefits. Above all, the top reason to start archiving is to free up space on costly high-performance storage. When files are migrated to the Archive, they can be deleted from the high-performance storage. This keeps the number of files to a reasonable level, reduces risk, increases efficiency, and saves investment.

Archiving can also save considerable energy. An Archive that stores all files and productions on LTO tape is highly economical with low power consumption. Tape offers the lowest price point per TB compared to every other medium. Scaling is cheap with about 10USD/EUR per TB. This provides the user with unmatched price reliability, density, and organization.
