I got a brand new Minnie Mouse costume on Freecycle. I saw from the pictures that the trim in the front was damaged, and it was pretty obvious. I decided to take it anyway, as I have lots of trim I have bought at garage sales.

This is a fun activity for the kids to play with. And especially if you don't have glitter on hand, you can use salt as a cheaper alternative and some water colors, or acrylic paint mixed with water.

This is an inexpensive and easy way to make a custom kid's crown with a paper plate. It is ideal for playing dress up at home, as a party hat, or to complete a Halloween costume! This concept would be fun for a kids' party for them to decorate their own hats, too!

I've always been intrigued by the beauty of spiderwebs. I don't find them creepy or gross, but if you do, Halloween is a good time to have them around! This necklace is super easy to make. I made mine cover my entire neck to wear with a long black dress. You can adjust the vertical measurements to make yours shorter.

Aren't these little monsters adorable? They're mostly fruit, so you won't feel too bad munching on them. Play around with their teeth and eye spacing to give them each some character. After slicing the apples, this would be a great edible craft for kids. Have fun!

Make your family members and houseguests giggle in the bathroom with these Halloween inspired mummies and ghost. Empty toilet paper roll mummies lead them to think they're out of luck, but a ghost is there to tell them they can "Poo!"

I eat a lot of the larger Campbell's chicken noodle soup (in the 25% more cans) and mandarin oranges from The Dollar Tree. While prepping them for recycling today, it hit me. The bigger one could be a lid for the smaller one.

I made this "Happy Fall" sign with items I had at home. The sign looks nice on the mantel, I ended up loving how this turned out. You can make this sign with any phrase you would like.

Put your old tin cans to use is by turning them into lanterns. Simply punch holes into them, then place candles or LED lights inside. If your tin cans are on the thin side, before starting, fill the cans with water then freeze overnight. This will keep the cans from bending when you're punching holes into them.

Save Ribbon from Shopping Bag for Crafting
By 15mhhm15
Before tossing out shopping bags, see if you can salvage any pieces. This Victoria's Secret bag has had it's fair share of being recycled/reused. I was able to salvage the ribbon and it will be perfect to use for crafting!

I wanted a stack of old books as a prop with my Halloween decorations, but all of the ones I found were too expensive. Then I saw these at the craft store, they are actually boxes. They are perfect and easily customizable.

I started this project because I volunteer at a senior center. I do arts & crafts with them there and have great fun. I am very limited in what they can use such as, hot glue, sharp scissors, or certain types of paints and most of all, carving! So this is what I came up with. This is also great for young children.

Crochet Peeking Cat Butt Coaster
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
This was a cute little craft I found for free, but I won't be telling you how to make it. I promised the lady who created the pattern I would share a link to her free pattern. Fair is fair. When you make it, its fun and fast. It took me less than an hour.

Making Craft Templates from Political Mailers

This is the time of year when I am inundated with political mailings. So the ballot is in the mail and now I have all of this junk mail to recycle. I decided to use some of it to make circular templates.

This Week's QuestionsTop Thread Breaking on a Pfaff Sewing MachineI have a Pfaff Hobby 1200 Grand quilter. I have used it about 6 years for quilting. The top thread is breaking every 5 -6 inches - this is new. I always clean and oil after each quilt - so I oiled it, cleaned it, replaced the needle (confirmed I am using correct needle size) and using quality thread.Instructions and Thread Requirements for Stamped Quilt BlocksMy grandmother left behind several blocks, but they are no longer packaged.Value of a Morse Sewing MachinePfaff Syntronic 1229 Presser Foot Lever Not WorkingI have been using my Pfaff machine recently, and the last few times I notice the presser foot lever is not working properly. It seems to have disconnected inside and today will not even lift the presser foot at all. It just goes right round.
