Dear Friend, This year’s Personal Democracy Forum will be a one-day event on Thursday, June 6th in New York City. Why only one day? As you may know, we are hard at work planning for the new Civic Hall @ Union Square project, which begins construction this Spring. Once it is finished in early 2021, it will include a state-of-the-art conference and event center where we will be able to easily accommodate a two day affair akin to the PDF events of the past. Even though this year's event will be only one day, we still want to offer everyone in our community an opportunity to come together, hear from some amazing speakers, and continue PDF's tradition as one of the world's best gatherings at the intersection of technology and civic society. Our program will be a combination of morning keynote conversations and afternoon open interactive sessions, as well as plenty of time for networking for all attendees. To that end, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve already confirmed keynoters Renee DiResta of Data4Democracy, on the challenge of information warfare, and Ben Rattray, the founder of Change.org, on the challenges of growing civic tech to scale. We are hard at work putting together the full program and will be sharing more details including registration information soon. If you are interested in partnering on or sponsoring PDF 2019, or have an idea for a lightning talk, keynote, or open session (panel, workshop, demo, performance) please let us know here. Hold June 6th and stay tuned! Sincerely, Andrew and Micah |
