SBC committees move forward on sexual abuse investigationsThis month two SBC committees, the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), held meetings in which they addressed concerns related to sexual abuse. Read MoreThis Week in Washington, D.C.Today, the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on a bill titled the “Women’s Health Protection Act of 2021” This bill removes any restrictions for abortion providers and those who seek abortions, and allows for abortions to occur up to the birth of the baby. Additionally, the bill eliminates all pro-life protections at the federal and state level, and also removes states’ ability to legislate on abortion. Speaker Pelosi is bringing this bill to the House floor as a direct response to the lifesaving Texas Heartbeat bill that went into effect at the beginning of September. The ERLC is strongly opposed to this bill and any effort to legalize abortion. We will always advocate for life before Congress, the courts, and in the public square.
