SCANA settles Securities and Exchange Commission suit

SCANA will pay a $25 million penalty and SCANA and SCE&G will pay $112.5 million in disgorgement plus prejudgment interest. The SEC alleged the companies defrauded investors through false statements regarding the V.C. Summer nuclear project.

S.C. initial unemployment claims drop by 884 in week

For the week ending Nov. 14, 2,683 claims were filed, down from 3,567 the previous week. Three S.C. counties, including Richland, saw more than 200 initial claims filed. Since March 15, 783,926 claims have been filed in the state. 

Workshop to provide grant application information 

A pair of virtual workshops on Dec. 10 and Dec. 16 will offer eligible organizations information about Richland County’s accommodations tax grants, hospitality tax grants and service-based discretionary grants.
