The ChatGPT app is transforming my Mac right before my eyes

OpenAI’s ChatGPT app for Mac can now search the web. So could it see off Google?

OpenAI launched a ChatGPT app for Mac earlier this year, and then boosted it with an update that gave it web-searching powers. Digital Trends’ Alex Blake has been trying out the latest iteration of the app in macOS Sequoia, and he’s been really impressed with it.

“With its incredible abilities, web search integration, and a few clever Mac-friendly touches, ChatGPT’s macOS app has a huge amount going for it — and finally makes my MacBook feel like a proper ‘AI PC,’” Alex wrote. Read on to find out how it beats Google Search and whether it’ll work for you, too ...

I’m obsessed with this app that turned my iPhone into a retro iPod

For a real nostalgia trip, consider this $3 app that turns your iPhone into an old-school iPod

In a nutshell, the My Classic - Retro Console app puts an iPod Classic on your iPhone. Digital Trends’ mobile editor Joe Maring tried it out and ended up loving it.

“It’s kind of amazing,” Joe wrote. “The interface is almost identical to what you would see on an iPod Classic or an iPod Nano. The home screen shows options for shuffling your songs, browsing your music, seeing what's currently playing, and a few app settings (plus an option to tip the developer).” And the iconic scroll wheel even vibrates and clicks. Find out exactly why Joe found My Classic - Retro Console to be more than just an alternative interface for the Apple Music app ...

Creative’s Pebble Nova speakers break free from their budget desktop past

Creative pushes its computer speakers into bookshelf territory with the Pebble Nova

Creative’s Pebble series has already earned respect for its affordable computer speakers, with prices as low as $50 for a Pebble Plus two-speaker setup and a subwoofer. Creative’s new Pebble Nova speakers, however, are far pricier at $280, Digital Trends reported, putting them up against brands like Audioengine, Kanto, and Edifier.

Despite their higher price and bigger footprint, the Pebble Nova retain many of the ingredients of their smaller siblings, so you still get the familiar spherical shape with 45-degree up-angled drivers, passive rear radiators, and customizable LED lighting. But Creative has revamped the acoustic architecture considerably ...

The first trailer for 28 Years Later has arrived, and it’s downright terrifying

It shows the Rage Virus continuing to wreak havoc as the zombie apocalypse only gets worse

The Rage Virus has evolved in the first trailer for 28 Years Later, the long-awaited third film in the zombie apocalypse franchise that hits theaters on June 20. The chilling footage is set to an eerie reading of Rudyard Kipling's poem Boots and shows a group of survivors living in isolation on a heavily guarded island. One of those survivors is played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who heads to the mainland armed with a bow and arrow.

The trailer also reveals stars Jodie Comer and Ralph Fiennes, the latter covered in blood as he approaches a giant statue made from skulls ...

This little retro gaming monitor is seriously adorable

And one of its main features is odd, to say the least

Well, here’s an unusual product. It's a retro gaming monitor from JapanNext that seeks to blend nostalgia with modern technology, while also including an unusual gimmick — the ability to watch stuff or play video games in monochrome.

The monitor costs around $200 and features a 23.6-inch panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1080p resolution, and 180Hz refresh rate, Digital Trends reported. It also has a 1ms response time, an sRGB gamut of 90%, and a DCI-P3 coverage of 80%, along with 300 nits of brightness. Dials to the side let you adjust the brightness and the volume (just like an old mid-20th century television), and also switch between color and monochrome ...
