Kershaw County businesses can apply for grants

The Kershaw County Council has approved a grant program that will award qualified small businesses affected by COVID-19 grants of up to $7,500. Businesses must be privately held, for-profit and have 20 or fewer employees.

South Carolina Community Loan Fund receives $25K grant

The grant, from the Regions Foundation, will support the Community Development Financial Institution’s efforts to help small businesses affected by the new coronavirus.

Effort to help local restaurants grows beyond city and state 

Two days after the governor closed restaurant dining rooms statewide to tamp down the threat of COVID-19, two Clemson entrepreneurs launched SaveMAPS, for Save Mon-and-Pop Shops.Three weeks into the enterprise, SaveMAPS was helping restaurants and bars in 16 cities in five states.

Survey finds pandemic-related behavioral changes may last

Respondents to a survey conducted by marketing agency Chernoff Newman are likely to cook and stream movies at home once the COVID-19 crisis subsides. The survey also found that 73% of consumers are worried about exposure to the coronavirus.
