Nucor Corp. buying TrueCore of Laurens County

Nucor Corp. announced this week that it is acquiring TrueCore LLC, an insulated metal panel manufacturing company with a facility in Laurens.

Freightliner Custom Chassis Corp., a manufacturer of vehicle chassis, today announced plans to expand operations in Cherokee County. The $13.9 million is expected to create 193 new jobs.

SC Codes program to expand

The S.C. Department of Commerce’s Office of Innovation and Greenville-based nonprofit Build Carolina are expanding SC Codes, a statewide program to provide residents with free access to coding education. The program will grow the number of partners across the state, add course content, increase the number of participants and explore plans for certifications and apprenticeships.

Favor Greenville announced a $7,000 donation from Motiva/Shell Oil Co. This gift was made possible because of the relationship Stewart and Martha Spinks and The Spinx Co. have with Motiva/Shell, according to a news release.
