Summerville industrial spec building under construction

Keith Corp. broke ground recently on a 1 million square-foot speculative building at the Charleston Trade Center in Summerville. The industrial space adds to a growing sector of distribution and industrial space completed or under construction across the region.

BMW Manufacturing exports $8.9 billion in cars

For the seventh consecutive year, BMW Manufacturing led the nation in automotive exports by value. The company exported $8.9 billion worth of cars made in Spartanburg County in 2020, despite a temporary shutdown last spring caused by a supply chain under siege from COVID-19.

Redevelopment turns Mount Pleasant Bi-Lo into offices

Ladson construction company Frampton Construction demolished the interior of a Mount Pleasant grocery store to create 50,000 square feet of creative office space.

Sandhills School welcomes $2.1 million expansion

The project includes a 9,000-square-foot educational wing and the renovation of nine classrooms at the southeast Columbia school, which serves students in first through 12th grades with learning differences. The Boyd Foundation is funding the expansion.

Gallery: Greenville's AC Hotel to open in two weeks

Hotel operators this week gave previews of eight dining concepts unique to the hotel, which includes 10,000 square feet of event space and 196 guest rooms and suites. Juniper, the hotel's rooftop gin bar, and The Pressroom, a speakeasy paying homage to the property's newspaper roots, are slated for an April opening date.
