Report: Strong S.C. real estate market may slow in late 2020

The Annual Report of the South Carolina Housing Market compiled by South Carolina Realtors found closed sales increased 4 % in 2019, while new listings increased 4% for the year. Overall median sale price rose 7.5%.

Ingevity CEO resigns; 'personal conduct' cited

Michael Wilson resigned as president and CEO of North Charleston-based chemicals company Ingevity late last week because of “matters relating to his personal conduct,” the company said. The chairman of Ingevity’s board has been appointed as interim president and CEO until a permanent replacement can be found.

Fellowship extended to Midlands-area college students

Applications for the $3,500 Ethel Bolden Minority Fellowship are being accepted until May 15. The fellowship, available through the Richland Library Friends and Foundation, honors the longtime Columbia librarian and teacher.

Clemson University has received a $2.5 million gift to the College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences from Mitch and Carla Norville of Greenville. It is the first Academic Cornerstone gift for the college and the eighth for the university.
