S.C. solar jobs up 10% in 2019

South Carolina saw a 10% increase in its solar workforce last year to 3,037 total jobs, according to a report from the nonprofit advocacy group The Solar Foundation. Nationally, solar jobs were up 2.3% in 2019, an increase of 5,600 jobs, to 249,983 total jobs focused primarily on solar-related activities.

AbatUS to invest $10 million in new Greenville facility, create 35 jobs

Germany-based logistics and SAP service provider AbatUS will invest $10 million in a new Greenville location established to serve growing business in the Southeast.

USC, Prisma Health form new research, innovation partnership

The agreement aims to further research and innovation and identify mutually beneficial relationships with industry partners. The organizations will collaborate in areas including intellectual property patents and cybersecurity.

The Beach Co. tops out The Jasper, begins retail, office leasing

The Beach Co. has topped out The Jasper, a new 12-story mixed-use building in Charleston. Leasing for retail and office space has begun, and a reservation list has been started for residential spaces.

Clemson chooses new dean for architecture college

Nicholas Vazsonyi has been chosen to lead the College of Architecture, Arts and Humanities at Clemson University. He is currently chair of the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and serves as the Jesse Chapman Alcorn Memorial Professor of Languages at the University of South Carolina. He takes over his new post at Clemson University on July 1. Vazsonyi’s specialties include German national identity.
