Goose Creek staffing company makes $17.3M acquisition

HireQuest Inc., with headquarters in Goose Creek and other locations throughout the state, is purchasing the Texas staffing company, Snelling Staffing for $17.3 million. The acquisition would include Snelling’s 43 locations in 24 states.

ZF invests $200 million at Laurens plant

Vehicle transmission manufacturer ZF plans to invest $200 million to launch its PowerLine eight-speed automatic transmission production line at its Gray Court facility by 2023. The move is slated to create 500 jobs in the area.

Chris Pratt founded the Feed Thy Neighbor initiative to help raise money to fight food insecurity. In a partnership with Greater Good Charities, he raised $650,000 and has donated $20,000 to the Lowcountry Food Bank.

Richland County completes 2015 flood buyouts

The county has acquired and demolished 57 properties damaged in the historic flood through a federal program, with the last property demolition taking place last month. The county is now focusing on rebuilding and repair efforts.
