New King Street hotel plans get final construction approval

Charleston’s Board of Architectural Review gave final approval Wednesday night for a new hotel on King Street in Charleston. The four-story hotel will have 50 rooms and a penthouse, with retail space and a rooftop lounge.

Vino Volvo opens new concept bar at GSP

Vino Volo, an airport wine bar operator and retailer, has made Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport the first airport to offer a Vino Volo MarketBar. The new concept, which offers wine, beer and gourmet bakery items, opened last month and was dedicated this week.

Equipment and 23 permanent support personnel will begin arriving at Fort Jackson from Fort Bragg, N.C., this month. The civil affairs and psychological operations courses will begin in March.

3 Lowcountry self-storage facilities sold

Real estate development company Miller-Valentine Group and Charleston-based Coastal Storage Group have sold three climate-controlled self-storage facilities in the Charleston area to Public Storage. The transaction includes approximately 300,000 square feet of space and over 2,000 self-storage units.
