Hospice Care of South Carolina buys Agape Hospice

Hospice Care of South Carolina, a portfolio company of The Vistria Group, has acquired Agape Hospice, creating the largest hospice care providers in the state. 

South State Corp. combining with Florida bank

Columbia-based South State, the largest bank based in South Carolina, is combining with CenterState Bank in an all-stock deal valued at $6 billion. The new organization will keep the South State name but will be headquartered in Winter Haven, Fla.

Summey named CEO of Charleston County Aviation Authority

Charleston County Council Chairman Elliott Summey was named to replace state Sen. Paul Campbell as CEO and executive director of the Charleston County Aviation Authority, effective immediately. The lack of a formal selection process for the job led one board member to resign.
