Alorica expanding in Charleston County

Customer relationship management company Alorica plans to expand its Charleston County operations with a $1.2 million investment that’s expected to create 300 new jobs. The expansion is slated to be completed by the end of 2020.

Bon Secours to phase in $15 minimum wage

The parent organization of Bon Secours St. Francis is giving raises, raising its miminum wage to $15 per hour by 2022. Bon Secours Mercy Health says the model is “designed to enable its associates and their families to enjoy a dignified livelihood while working and in retirement.” 

Farming entrepreneurs selected for agriculture grants

The five recipients of the $5,000 grants, awarded through the  Agribusiness Center for Research and Entrepreneurship program, include farmers who grow mushrooms, produce and indigo and raise cattle.
