S.C. unemployment drops to record 2.4% in November

The statewide unemployment rate continued its historic drop, falling from 2.6% in October. An estimated 2,324,510 people are working in South Carolina, an increase of 5,604 from October and 69,390 from November 2018.

Brewery 85 tests biodegradable packaging

A Greenville brewery is testing six-pack rings made from plant-based, biodegradable fibers. The rings are made from by-product waste and compostable material from the brewing process, a news release said, and if the rings end up in nature, the product is edible for wildlife.

Orangeburg funeral home owner charged with tax evasion

According to arrest warrants, Robert Bethea III operated Bethea Funeral Home of Orangeburg without a retail license and failed to pay nearly $99,000 in income and sales tax.
