Program lets restaurants indicate COVID-19 compliance

As COVID-19 cases continue to climb across the state, Gov. Henry McMaster has unveiled the Palmetto Priority program, which restaurants can take part in to indicate they are complying with social distancing and infection-control protocols.

Dominion Energy extends no-disconnect policy

Dominion has suspended disconnects and waived fees for those struggling to pay their bills to Sept. 14 even though the state mandate expired on May 14. The company urged customers to contact Dominion about options for paying bills, especially if they are having difficulty during the coronavirus pandemic.

Columbia to require masks within city limits

Columbia City Council voted to require face coverings in public beginning at 6 a.m. Friday to slow the spread of coronavirus. The ordinance exempts those with underlying health conditions and children 10 years old and younger.

Orbis expands Upstate plant

Orbis Corp. has expanded into a new Upstate facility to boost its metal rack fabrication capabilities. The Wisconsin-based company operates 13 manufacturing plants across the United States, Canada and Mexico and employs more than 2,700 people companywide.

Unity Park, Project Gateway leap forward

Greenville City Council members expect the city’s investment in the 60-acre Unity Park and mixed development community Project Unity Gateway to pay off as the local economy reclaims lost territory after the pandemic. Construction on Phase I of the Unity Park project will begin in early July.
