Michelin begins phased shutdown of some plants

Michelin North America Inc. has begun a temporary “phased” shutdown of some it its tire production plants in the United States and Canada in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Plane crash on Johns Island kills pilot

A plane crash near Charleston Executive Airport on Johns Island on Saturday evening killed the aircraft’s pilot, the only person aboard. The Federal Aviation Authority said the plane crashed after the pilot reported engine failure and attempted to land on Johns Island.
