Saddle Creek Logistics Services bringing jobs to Duncan

Saddle Creek Logistics Services plans to open a distribution center in Duncan to support the expansion of a “major retail client,” according to a news release. Scheduled to open in January, the facility will create more than 150 new warehouse jobs in the area.

Sapience Automation establishes Berkeley County facility

Automation and robot integration company Sapience Automation has established operations in Berkeley County with a $500,000 investment that is expected to create 26 jobs. Sapience focuses on the integration of industrial robots for manufacturers, working through automation, optimization and other operations.

S.C. metro areas see slight growth in construction jobs

In South Carolina, employment gains from September 2018 to September 2019 were minimal in metropolitan areas. Greenville-Anderson-Mauldin ranked 66th in percentage growth of jobs with an increase of 1,100 jobs (6%), Charleston-North Charleston ranked 102nd with growth of 1,000 jobs (5%), Spartanburg (200 jobs, 3%) ranked 163rd and Columbia (400 jobs, 2%) ranked 195th.

Air Premia orders 5 Boeing 787s

The Korean startup airline has ordered five 787-9 Dreamliner airplanes, following its agreement to lease three dash-9s from Air Lease Corp. earlier this year. Air Premia is expected to launch operations by September 2020 and will be South Korea’s second Dreamliner operator.

Aquarium company establishes operations center at Midlands Technical College

Aquarium Partners, based in France, is establishing its U.S. operational center at the Midlands Technical College Enterprise Campus in Northeast Columbia. 

Upstate chambers partner on Minority Business Accelerator program

The Greenville Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Anderson and Spartanburg chambers of commerce to broaden the scope of the Minority Business Accelerator to the Upstate.
