Anderson executive charged with tax evasion

The S.C. Department of Revenue arrested an Anderson executive Thursday and charged him with seven counts of tax evasion. The president and co-owner of three Upstate companies earned more than $6.3 million, the department said.

Duke Energy Foundation awards welding grant to SCC

A grant from the energy company has given Spartanburg Community College the extra support needed to make its welding program into a degree program. Welders are already in short supply and demand will grow by 15% over the next few years, the school said.
