S.C. Legal Services receives technology grant

The agency, a nonprofit providing free legal assistance to eligible Palmetto State residents, has received $155,940 from Legal Services Corp. to help improve its use of technology to assist low-income individuals with civil legal needs. The nonprofit will use the grant to expand the number of online classes it offers.

Prisma Health, Contessa partner on care model

Prisma Health will partner with Nashville-based Contessa on a care model, called home recovery care, designed to keep patients out of the hospital by bringing key elements of inpatient care directly into patients’ homes.

Students earn diplomas through inaugural program

Five students, ranging in age from 22 to 47, received their high school diplomas through the Richland Library Career Online High School at the program’s inaugural graduation ceremony. Currently, 40 students are enrolled in the program, while 70 interested candidates have completed the prerequisite course.

Lowcountry residential real estate flat, CTAR president says

Edward Oswald, president of the Charleston Trident Association of Realtors, said Charleston’s residential real estate sales growth is flat year to date. This year’s closings show transactions are up half a percent and the median price is up 5% for the region.

Northeast Columbia property developed after 12 years

The Roseberry apartment complex has opened on land purchased by Julie and David Tuttle in 2007. After weathering the 2008 economic downturn, the Tuttles forged ahead with the multifamily development in Northeast Columbia.

Restaurant, lodging association names winners

The S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association announced the winners of the 7th annual Upstate Hospitality Awards, celebrating exceptional professionalism and service of top individuals in the industry. An awards ceremony will take place Nov. 4 at the Embassy Suites Golf Resort in Greenville.
