| | IJsbaan open vanaf 14 december | Kom schaatsen tussen de treinen! |
| | De dagen worden korter, de temperatuur daalt en schaatsliefhebbers krijgen alweer de kriebels. Goed nieuws voor hen: ook dit jaar wordt er weer een ijsbaan aangelegd in het Spoorwegmuseum. Vanaf zaterdag 14 december kan er geschaatst worden tussen de treinen, op een apart deel van de ijsbaan kun je curling spelen! Winter Station: 21 december 2019 t/m 5 januari 2020 Op 21 december start Winter Station met iedere dag een gezellig familieprogramma met kinderactiviteiten, muziek, een draaimolen en ijspret. De curlingbaan wordt dan een oefenbaantje voor beginners, compleet met schaatsrekjes. Het museum is, met uitzondering van 24, 25, 26 en 31 december, open tot 19.00 uur. Dit jaar is het museum voor het eerst ook op 1 januari open. Speciale aanbieding: dalurentickets met entree na 15.00 uur voor slechts €7,50! | | |

| Nieuws uit het museum | Oersik opgeknapt en tekeningen gedigitaliseerd | | Oersik gerestaureerd | Hij ziet er dankzij de vrijwilligers van het museum weer piekfijn uit: NS locomotor 103 of ‘Oersik’ zoals hij ook genoemd wordt. Het locomotiefje heeft zijn gifgroene kleur terug uit bouwjaar 1930, toen NS deze eerste reeks van supereenvoudige werkpaardjes in dienst nam. Hij zal niet meer rijden, maar is nu wel in perfecte staat te zien in het museum. | | |

| Tekeningen gedigitaliseerd | Het Spoorwegmuseum heeft een unieke collectie technische tekeningen in het depot. Ze liggen netjes opgeborgen in kokers. Een deel daarvan is nu gedigitaliseerd. Het is de bedoeling dat ze op termijn voor iedereen beschikbaar komen. Digitaliseerder Willem Kentie en conservator Tuur Verdonck vertellen erover in een kort filmpje. | | |

| De Tweede Wereldoorlog in 100 foto's | Tijdens de Spoorwegstaking zat NS-directeur Hupkes, onder een schuilnaam, ondergedoken op een adres in Maartensdijk. Hij hield daar kantoor in de badkamer. Die foto is te zien in de presentatie 'Kinderen van Versteeg' over de spoorwegen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog en is één van de foto's die het Spoorwegmuseum aanlevert voor het project 'De Tweede Wereldoorlog in 100 foto’s'. 'De Tweede Wereldoorlog in 100 foto’s' is een nationaal participatie-project dat in het kader van 75 jaar Vrijheid inwoners van Nederland stimuleert op verschillende manieren mee te doen. In eerste instantie per provincie en later op landelijk niveau worden de meest aansprekende foto’s met betrekking tot Nederland, Nederlands Indië, Suriname en de Antillen tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog bijeen gebracht. Niet alleen musea en andere instellingen kunnen foto's insturen, de oproep gaat ook uit naar iedereen die thuis nog foto's uit de oorlog heeft. Alle foto’s van het dagelijks leven tijdens de oorlog zijn welkom. Per provincie worden door een commissie de meest aansprekende foto's geselecteerd. Uiteindelijk moet de zoektocht leiden tot een tentoonstelling in de Tweede Kamer en de publicatie van een fotoboek. | | |
