Researchers found that music with a groove can enhance executive function and brain activity in relevant brain regions. However, this effect was only observed in individuals who reported that the music elicited a strong groove sensation and who felt more clear-headed after listening. These findings could lead to new strategies for enhancing cognitive function in normal and patient populations, such as accessible and effective exercise programs (enriched exercise).
