Before last week, we had never heard of Scorpion Season.

Not to be confused with star signs (Scorpio, scorpion, same thing) or those hard-shelled arachnids (thank goodness), Scorpion Season is a pretty major symbol of a change in times here in Dubai.

Marking the final phase of winter, said to last until Thursday March 20, summer (and its soaring temperatures) are well within reach.

But what's that got to do with us?
