Scotland's cleanest - and dirtiest - beaches revealed

Scotland’s cleanest beach for bathing has been identified – as well as the waters that you might think twice about diving into.

Topping the list for cleanliness is a Highland beach, long fabled for its turquoise seas and tranquil surrounds. The dirtiest beach in Scotland, according to the research, was named as Kinghorn Harbour in Fife, which scored just 0.1 out of 100. Perhaps one to avoid if you're visiting the Kingdom this summer.
