First up today, we have the latest from our education correspondent, Calum Ross, who has an exclusive story about a Scottish Government rescue plan for crisis-hit Dundee University. The university, which recently saw principal Professor Iain Gillespie resign amid a furore around his £131,000 expenses bill, admitted last month it faced a budget deficit of up to £30 million.

News that a Scottish-created AI-powered blood test could detect breast cancer early has been welcomed as a potential "game changer" in fighting the disease. The new fast and non-invasive test created by researchers at the University of Edinburgh, works by revealing the subtle changes in the bloodstream that occur at the initial “1a” stage of the disease.
