| Discover Seattle | With a backdrop of Washington state forests, mountains and the sparkling waters of Puget Sound, Seattle provides the natural gateway to Alaska. If you're looking to admire the city's natural beauty simply soar to the top of the iconic Space Needle, at 605 feet tall, its floor-to-ceiling glass observation deck offers incredible 360-degree views. Foodies certainly won't be disappointed, you'll just need to take a stroll through the historic Pike Place Market to discover the variety of fresh Northwest produce destined for the city's bars and restaurants. The only chain store in the market is Starbucks, which can be forgiven seeing as it's the company's oldest shop, grinding beans since 1971. To read our Seattle port guide in full just click here. | |
| | | Alaska Cruise | Cruising from the Emerald City you'll navigate the waters of the Puget Sound as you sail north towards Alaska. Your first port of call will be the town of Ketchikan, also known as the 'Salmon Capital of the World'. One of the highlights of your cruise will be cruising the Endicott Arm Fjord, which marks the southern edge of the 653,179 acre Tracy Arm-Fjords Terror Wilderness area. Your journey through this stunning landscape ends at the incredible Dawes Glacier, which stands over 600 feet tall and a half-mile wide. Up next is Alaska's state capital, Juneau, perfectly positioned at the midpoint of the Inside Passage. Here you'll enjoy wonderful views of mountains, glaciers, rainforests and more. Soon you'll arrive at the remote town of Skagway, gateway to the Yukon and known for the Klondike Gold Rush at the end of the 19th century. Cruising back south through the Inside Passage your last port of call will be the Canadian city of Victoria, British Columbia, before sailing back into Seattle. | |
