SEC: BMW reports inflated sales numbers to investors

The Securities and Exchange Commission settled charges against BMW AG and two U.S. subsidiaries for inflating U.S. retail sales while raising $18 billion in bond offerings from investors. Reports from 2015 to 2019 show the misconstrued data helped close the gap between the actual retail sales numbers and internal targets, according to the SEC.

Duke Energy funds slew of park and conservation projects

The Duke Energy Foundation is helping fund environmental and conservation efforts through a $350,000 grant stemming from increased energy usage during the pandemic.

USC researchers: S.C.’s economic recovery faces obstacles

The state’s recovery from the pandemic will be affected by the U.S. presidential election and could stall if fall brings an uptick in COVID-19 cases, University of South Carolina researchers say.

CDBG funding allocated to Upstate projects

Twenty-three S.C. communities will receive a share of more than $17.5 million in Community Development Block Grant funding for public improvement projects. Upstate projects in Laurens County, Greenwood County, the city of Pickens and city of Liberty received funding.
