Meet the Grand Canyon Caverns Inn, located in Peach Springs, AZ and home to one of the worldâs most unusual hotel rooms. While the inn does contain ordinary rooms at affordable rates, for $800 a night, you can venture deep into the Earth in the hotelâs special Cavern Suite. This room is more than 200 ft below the surface, and is located in a natural dry cave that repels all moisture, bacteria, and noise from above. The room sleeps up to 6, and is serviced by an attendant who personally carries your water to you via a special elevator. The room exists in the first place thanks to President Kennedy, who had the location saved as a spare fallout shelter in the event of a nuclear war. As cool as this all sounds, though, itâs old news to an Arizona resident like me. You could even say I liked this hotel when it wa s still âundergroundâ¦â
