NATIONAL: This weekend, video chat app Houseparty hosted its first event series called In the House. The three-day event featured appearances by more than 40 celebrities, including Alicia Keys, Jos Andrs, Katy Perry, and Addison Rae. The app had soft-launched its video player last week for a virtual prom experience with D-Nice; it plans to host additional virtual events in the future. Teen Vogue will host a virtual commencement on May 31. The event, presented by Adobe, will feature appearances by Aly Raisman, Tracee Ellis Ross, Anna Wintour, Stacey Abrams, and more. LOS ANGELES: Event production company We Crush Events has launched Party From Home, which offers virtual cooking classes, health and wellness workshops, magic shows, and more. The company is also teaming up with its audiovisual and tech partners to plan online meetings and conferences. NASHVILLE: The Joseph, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is slated to open in August. The 297-room hotel will feature 26,000 square feet of event space, plus a spa, fitness center, and three dining outlets. Rajesh Radke has been named general manager and Shana Lindsey director of sales and marketing. VANCOUVER: Royce Chwin is the new president and CEO of Tourism Vancouver, effective July 13.
