Writer's Digest Annual Conference
Hi fellow writers!

I’m super excited to be headed to the 2017 Writer’s Digest Annual Conference in NYC this summer, August 18-20, and I hope you consider joining me. We have quite a roster of excellent speakers lined up, including bestselling authors and popular literary agents who will help you grow your writing career, no matter where you are in the process.

REGISTER NOW!

There are five tracks you can follow—Getting Published, Platform & Promotion, Craft, Genre Studies and The Business of Being an Author. You can follow along on the one that suits you most or mix-and-match based on which courses you feel will forward your ability to reach your writing goals. And, if you’re not sure which sessions to take in, let me recommend a few:

Ask the Agents (& Editor) Anything: FYSA & Friends: Literary Agent Barbara Poelle (who is smart and hilarious), rounds up a group of agents to tackle all your writing/publishing-related questions. This is one panel I wouldn’t miss if you want to know what literary agents are looking for in manuscripts.

Secrets to a Successful Author Website: Former Writer’s Digest publisher and current publishing expert Jane Friedman walks you through all the basics you need to create a website that helps you as a writer (and ambassador of your work). Jane is a friend of mine. She’s also very savvy and has a super-successful site of her own. It’s definitely a don’t-miss session if you want to have a great author website.

Panel: Is Self-Publishing the Path for You?: If you’re interested in self-publishing (or just curious what it means to writers), we’ve collected many voices to help explain the pros and cons of walking down this publishing path. Join Ben Sobieck, Christopher Stollar, Rob Dircks and Tabitha Lord as they answer your questions on self-publishing, Wattpad and more.

These sessions are just a starting point. I’ve read through the list and every session available is packed with valuable information, so you really can’t go wrong no matter which one you choose. Sign up now and join me at the 2017 Writer’s Digest Annual Conference. I’d love to say hello to you in person.
