As fellow Malaysians, there’s no doubt that we’re blessed with colourful traditions and cultures within our society. When it comes to Hari Raya Aidilfitri, our Muslim brothers and sisters wake up early to pray and thank for the blessings they have in life. They seek for forgiveness and receive ‘green’ packets of money from their elders. They’ll also pay a visit to their relatives, family, and friends while dressed in their brand new clothes. For others, we’re all “amped up” for the bazaar because of the delicious traditional food that they sell and of course...the holidays ahead. While it’s tiring to mention about the pandemic again, it’s definitely made everything different from what we’re used to. But we realised one thing stays the same. It’s the spirit of their love and compassion. It’s not only a festive season of ending their fast but also a season to give, and forgive. To be thankful, and grateful. Their unshaken faith from all the chaos in the world is something we commend for. And it’s amazing how we can learn so much from our brothers and sisters from different cultures. As Malaysians, our unity stands strong. Not to mention we’re seeing great progress in our fight with the pandemic. So let’s keep it up for the brighter days ahead. Despite staying indoors and unable to pray and share food together, we always find creative ways to celebrate with our loved ones like: Organizing zoom parties together. Cook a good meal for yourself and family and make the "kuih" that shows the colours of Malaysia. Or even take photos and exchange them with family apart. To all our Muslim friends, we hope you’re in good health and still positive about everything that is to come. Selamat Hari Raya to you and your family. Your fellow artisans from TAP |
