Hi there,
A lot has happened this year. The list is long, toxic and probably on a constant loop on your various screens.
Today we urge you to take a breath with us. Because we all deserve a little peace, if only for a day.
Here are some of the ways Free Press staff are engaging in self-care during these tumultuous times: - “I use passing through doorways to recenter myself in the present. I treat it as an opportunity to let go of the things behind me and to focus on the purpose I have for entering a new space and what's ahead.” —Brandon
- “Medicinal hot tea, meal planning and petting my dog. He’s so soft and fluffy and is my shadow and makes me happy.” —Mary Alice
- “I meditate, exercise, take stretch breaks, center, drink medicinal tea, play with my kids, focus on being present, drink lots of water, eat healthy, and get at least 8 hours of sleep.” — Misty
- “I play board games, listen to music, dance, go for long walks, read ... and, of course, spend time with loved ones.” — Amy
- “I go to the gym and lift heavy things a few times a week, cook food with good friends, and am teaching myself to play ukulele (very badly, but that’s not what matters) …” — Lucia

We hope you’ll use things from our list — and others’ — to find peace, balance and joy.
With care,
